CONVICTION

FAQ

Straight answers.

What does CONVICTION actually do?
When a post on X mentions a crypto token, CONVICTION compares what the post claims with observable market evidence for that token (DEX liquidity, volume, trade counts, price) and shows whether the money agrees: for example Capital confirms, Hype > Capital or Capital moved first. Every result carries its reasons, evidence, confidence and freshness.
Is this investment advice? Will it tell me what to buy?
No. CONVICTION is informational intelligence. It never tells you to buy or sell and a score is not a price prediction. It answers one question: does observable capital evidence support what this post claims? Read the risk disclosure.
Do I need to connect my X account or a wallet?
No. The extension works on posts already displayed in your browser while you use x.com normally. It never asks for your X password, cookies, a wallet connection, seed phrase or private keys.
What leaves my browser?
Only what is needed to analyse a crypto post: its post ID, author handle, timestamp, visible engagement counts, and token references and claim direction that are derived locally. Post text is not sent. The full list is on the privacy page.
Why do I sometimes see “Insufficient evidence” or “Token identity uncertain”?
Because CONVICTION refuses to invent certainty. If a cashtag matches more than one credible token, if a market is too thin or the data is stale, or if a provider is down, we tell you instead of guessing. For ambiguous cashtags you can pick the right token in the card.
Does CONVICTION track “smart money” or wallets?
Not in V1. We have no wallet-level data source, so we don't claim to identify smart money. We describe what we can actually observe: liquidity, volume, buy and sell trade counts, and price.
Which chains and tokens are supported?
Ethereum, Base, Solana and BNB Smart Chain tokens that trade on DEXs indexed by DEX Screener. Stablecoins and assets native to other chains (XRP, DOGE, ADA and others) are recognised but deliberately not scored.
How fresh is the data?
Market data is fetched on demand and cached for about 60 seconds. Each result shows when its evidence was fetched. If a provider fails we may show clearly labelled older data; anything over an hour old is never presented as a conviction result.
Is it free?
Yes, you can start free with no account (40 analyses a day), or 100 a day with a free account. Paid plans add higher limits, history, Capital Movers and alerts. See pricing.
How do I pause or remove it?
Use the Pause switch in the extension popup to stop all analysis instantly, or remove the extension from chrome://extensions. Nothing keeps running after removal.
